I recognize the importance of eating right, working out regularly and getting a good night’s sleep.
I take very good care of myself and have no major health issues.
Although I’m now 54 years old, I still have a great deal of energy, strength and stamina. I have no problem continuing my hobbies, and I often kayak, play tennis, tackle home remodeling projects and spend hours working in my gardens. I’ve maintained the same approximate weight since graduating college and often get mistaken for much younger than my age. I start everyday with a minimum of an hour workout. I try to vary between different styles of exercise to target and rest all the different muscles. My workouts typically incorporate a variety of stretches, strength training, balance exercises and aerobics. I do a lot of variations of squats, lunges and jumps. I lift everything from three-pound to ten-pound weights and have a selection of dumbbells, kettlebells and weighted balls. I sometimes ride my bike, go for a long run, swim or jump rope to get my heart pumping and work up a sweat. I also enjoy taking yoga, pilates and spin classes, and make sure to include breathing techniques for relaxation at the end of every workout session. My diet is centered around fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins. I don’t eat red meat, fast foods or sugary snacks and avoid carbonated drinks, coffee and alcohol. I always carry a water bottle around with me, making sure to properly hydrate. Although I sometimes have some difficulty sleeping, I stick to a very strict routine of when I got to bed and when I get up in the morning.
