My wife loved the gifts I got for her more than I thought she would

I have to admit, I am not the most romantic guy in the world. I don’t usually get my wife flowers, but for our anniversary, I decided that I would go for it. I got my wife a dozen roses, fancy chocolates, and a faux fireplace. I thought the faux fireplace was something she might like, but I was shocked by how she reacted. She just about cried when she saw the faux fireplace. She said she had always wanted one, and she especially liked the roses. She put them in a vase right away and she would go to smell them every single day. They actually lasted for a pretty long time, but they did end up drying up. My wife has been using the faux fireplace every single day, even though it’s not chilly in the room. She likes to keep the flames of the fireplace on to give the impression that there is a fire in the fireplace. It’s neat because she has it set to where the faux fireplace is not giving out any heat. When we get into the colder season, she says she can’t wait to turn on the heating option for it. In the meantime, she still has her dead, dried roses. I have mentioned the fact that the roses are dead, but she says she loves them so much and she doesn’t want to throw them out. I’m not sure how long you should keep dead roses, but it has been a long time and they are kind of depressing to me. I feel like maybe it’s a sign that I should buy my wife some fresh flowers so that she can swap them out.
