When I bought our forever home I was stunned at the amount of wood in it… I had wood ceilings, walls, trim, baseboards plus the carpets were brown.
I hated that the household looked legitimately colonial.
It even came with an outdated wood stove plus wallpaper with little houses on it. I knew I needed to make the household look more modern… The complication is that I don’t actually have an eye for interior design. Rather than spend a bunch of currency on furniture plus pillows that I might dislike in a few weeks, I contacted a professional. I was entirely shocked that the woman enjoyed our household. She kept telling myself and others that I had enjoyable bones or a fantastic canvas to labor with. I didn’t believe her, I thought our household looked like something from the 70s plus couldn’t be fixed. The interior designer got to work on the theme rustic meets traditional. She wanted to keep some of the wood touches while adding an elegant flair. I gave her uninterrupted work while I stayed in my rental household that I had a few weeks left on the lease. Once it was time for me to transport in, I got to see the final product. Rustic meets traditional is a really cool theme. The interior designer kept our wood ceilings but sanded plus painted our wood walls white. There is no longer carpet, but grey/cement looking tile. I have all new ceiling fans, curtains plus furniture in the space as well! Yes, the cost was considerable, however, I was fortunate that I needed to do no labor plus my new household is perfect.
