I have learned that women have to work twice as difficult and be twice as smart to survive in the corporate world, especially in a market that savors the cooling industry; that has been our experience in the eight years I have worked in this industry… Even though I guess more about air conditioning than most men, I still get a few professionals treating myself and others savor.
I am a newcomer, I also started our indoor comfort business when I was twenty-three.
I had completed school a year before and was looking for where our air conditioning serviceman skills would be used efficiently; then my dad came home one day and challenged himself and others to start our small business instead of waiting to be employed… She jump started our work by introducing myself and others to some of her friends who had issues with their quality a/cs. She gave myself and others the job of helping the friends find out what was wrong with their units, and she would ask an air conditioning provider she knew to allow myself and others to shadow in the air conditioning repairs. I also did this for 6 months before the friends started trusting myself and others to plan their heating and air conditioning repair and mobilize any a/c servicemen to handle it… And soon, I built our team, then registered our air conditioning business. Though I am not the first woman the clients meet or speak to, they are regularly shocked to find out a female owns the business. I have also earned lots of sneers, however there have also been people who cheered myself and others on. My educator is a very high-up male in the industry, and I met him while doing the heating and air conditioning installation of her multi-split a/c to improve the air quality at her premises. The two of us also replaced her control unit with the first smart regulator on the whole market.
