Once the decision was made to stay in this region, we knew that we wanted to make sustainable HVAC heating a priority.
Like a lot of people we had to make a decision on where to spend our retirement years.
However, my parents didn’t even consider leaving the family farm until literally they couldn’t take care of themselves any longer. When you experience something like that you certainly don’t want to do that to your own kids. It made more sense for my husband and myself to upgrade the HVAC equipment and sell the family home. We really just wanted to simplify our lives while we could in order to make way for all the fun stuff that we wanted to do as we are getting older. It’s just that we weren’t so sure that moving south and accepting all that HVAC cooling was really for us. Having been born and raised in this area, both of us were used to the winter and preferred it over a brutal summer. So we decided to stay put. The HVAC heating method for our new, smaller and sustainable home was all about the latest in HVAC technology. The new house has a geothermal heat pump. The heating is transferred through radiant floor heating. And that’s the most amazing heating method I have ever experienced. Something like old-school radiant heat from the boilers in my dorm room. However, having the heating come up through the flooring is even better. We love our new house and it’s so much easier to care for. But for sure, we are just so pleased with the geothermal heat pump and this type of quality heating and air.
