Trying to remain calm

In our house, my husband and I try our hardest to make sure that we control our tempers and keep our language clean.

From the moment we got married, we both agreed that there would be no screaming or swearing in our house, and we have done well to keep that agreement.

Even when all of us had children, we worked hard to make sure that we never did these things. However, just this week, my husband broke that promise when he tripped over the area heater. Now, I understand his problem, the area heating system has always been in a bad location, but I have no idea where to put it, the dining room is very drafty, so we have an area heating system in the dining room to keep it warm, then it also helps to keep the pipes from freezing during very frosty nights. However, our receptacles are old, and we can’t just plug the area heating system into any outlet, we have only one outlet that is safe enough for an area heater, but it is over the counter. The area heating system has to sit in the middle of the room, and it is very inconvenient, my husband is always bumping into the heater, and it seemed like a disaster was inevitable. One afternoon, he turned around and walked without looking, and he tripped over the area heater. The area heating system fell over and was disfigured, and he hurt his leg. When he hit the floor, he swore and said he hated that area heater. I knew that he was just mad because he knew that the area heating system was there for a reason.
