WIth that information, I’ve been meeting with local HVAC companies to obtain quotes for new systems and installations, and so far I’ve found some pretty good deals. I’ve tried not to cut too many corners with these instrument and service quotes, but there is a lot of work to be done. Because I want a smart thermostat and remote temperature control, I’ve been quoted at several thousand dollars to begin with. On top of that, a brand new air conditioning unit powerful enough to service the whole house is going to be a a formidable expense, as well. I know this is a lot of money, but I’m serious about getting this new heating and cooling system and have taken steps to ensure that I’ll save up the funds. Namely, I’ve started a direct deposit savings account with automatically withholds 10% of my monthly salary. WIth this in place, I should be relaxing in my perfectly comfortable indoor air in no time!

I tried to fiddle with the furnace myself, but was not making any progress in the dark closet that holds the machinery. After banging around in the small damp space for a while I gave up and called out the nearest HVAC company, hoping that by some miracle they would be available immediately. Of course, my dreams were squashed when the dispatcher informed me that the next time they had an available HVAC serviceman would be in at least several hours. For weeks last summer I had terrible luck; everything I touched seemed to go down the toilet.

I was literally covered in goosebumps, shielding myself from the AC as best I could, and he continued to just cruise around the city, not even offering conversation. FInally I thought he might be taking the hint as he reached towards the car’s temperature controls, but instead he just reached straight for the radio dial.

My favorite place to be is in my air conditioned bedroom. I loved being in my bedroom because it is the only place in the house that is air conditioned. I only have one window air conditioning unit, and I put it in my bedroom. At first, I transposed the air conditioner from my bedroom to the living room downstairs every single day. It is a heavy air conditioner especially for someone as small as me. I am only four foot nine, so I am a pretty small person. I don’t even know how I carried the air conditioner up and down the stairs so many times. I just love having air conditioning, but it isn’t worth breaking my back over it. I actually did end up hurting my back while carrying the air conditioner up the stairs one night. It was not good, and I had to get surgery to fix it. I have not been the same since. Needless to say, I no longer try to transport my air conditioner up and down the stairs everyday. I keep the air conditioner in my room because I don’t sleep very well without air conditioning in my bedroom. I know that sounds pathetic, but I am spoiled, and I love having air conditioning in my room. I would rather have the air conditioner in my bedroom than downstairs. Don’t get me wrong, I love having air conditioning during the day as well, but I can’t have both, and I would rather have air conditioning in my bedroom at night than downstairs during the day. I work outside of my home, so I am not at the house most of the day anyways.

The car that I am renting has AC problems.

• I don’t understand how a rental company could get away with renting a car with air conditioning problems, but I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone from the company.

There are no branches of this particular rental place where I am at for the next couple of days. Not having working air conditioning in my rental car is absolutely horrible. I don’t know what to do about it. I need air conditioning, but I don’t want to pay to get it fixed. I would normally just go without air conditioning, but it is literally over one hundred degrees outside. It is miserably hot, and air conditioning is simply a necessity for a car. It is probably almost a hundred and twenty degrees in my car. It takes at least an hour to cool down when driving fifty-five miles per hour down the road. I have never missed air conditioning so much in my entire life. I just don’t really know what to do because the rental company won’t answer my calls. They will certainly never have my business again, and I am planning to write a very terrible review on their website about air conditioning issues in one of their rental cars. I just hope that no one else has to go through all of these air conditioning issues that I am. It is really no fun at all. I wish that I would have driven my car instead of a rental even if it was going to put a ton of miles on my car.
